The Midlands came alive with the sound of cars on Sunday, 13 September, when R&R Real Estate hosted a car show at Peels Honey.
The event brought together car owners, enthusiasts, families and members of the local community for a relaxed day celebrating a shared love of cars and the people behind them.
A day of cars, stories and great conversations
There was plenty to see, with a varied selection of cars on display, including some beautiful classic and carefully restored vehicles.
One of the highlights was the opportunity to meet the owners and hear the stories behind their cars. Several owners have spent considerable time restoring and maintaining their vehicles, and they were happy to share their knowledge and explain the work that had gone into them.
Visitors could get up close to the cars, chat to the owners and hear about everything from restoration and maintenance to what makes each car special to its owner.
With vendors also attending, there was plenty to look at and do throughout the day.
Guess the mileage and win a hamper
We added a bit of friendly competition with a hamper competition centred around our own Wolseley.
Visitors were invited to guess the car's mileage, with the closest guess winning the hamper.
Congratulations to Mike Leisegang, a fellow car enthusiast, who won the hamper.
Our Wolseley and the Alfa have also had a fun outing of their own recently, driving some pupils from Howick High School to their dance in style.
More than just a car show
For R&R Real Estate, events like this are about bringing people together and being part of the community we work in.
Property is a big part of what we do, but our connection to the Midlands extends beyond buying and selling homes — including here in Howick, where we're headquartered. Supporting local events and creating opportunities for people to meet and enjoy themselves is something we value.
The car show was a great example of that. It brought together people with different cars, different stories and a common interest.
Supporting the Notties100
Our involvement in the local community doesn't stop with our own events.
R&R Real Estate was also proud to be one of the sponsors of the Notties100, a 24-hour challenge presented by Breaking the Darkness in support of Unchain Our Children.
The challenge brings people together to walk, run or cycle up to 100 km over 24 hours, with shorter distances and relay options also available. The event aims to raise awareness and funds in support of efforts to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable people.
Despite the inclement weather, participants completed the challenge. Their determination and commitment to seeing it through made the event particularly meaningful.
We were proud to play a small part in supporting an event with such an important purpose.
